For the Crimean Tatars, Crimea is a historical homeland, in connection with which they try to act as the main political force in this region. Crimean Tatars and Turkey have deep cultural and historical ties that unite Turks and Crimean Tatars. The Turkish political elite, in turn, does not miss the chance to influence the Crimean Tatars in order to strengthen its position in the Black Sea region.
