Analysing administrative documents and interviews, this paper examines how the "conversion" of these categories of artists is, in France, made as a public issue thanks to the successive action of “cause carriers”. The analysis of this apparatus shows some forms of social guidance, and also the gap between the expectations of the institutions that implement this program and his recipients.
