This is due lack of adequate cancer facilities available in rural India [1]. Nearly 70% of Indian population lives in rural India. However, nearly 95% of cancer care facilities are in urban India. Thus, though the incidence of cancer in rural India is nearly half of that of urban India, the mortality rates are double [2]. |
