Description
Summary:This article discusses built form management of Brazilian cities, with the aim of evaluating the effectiveness of ordinary urban regulations applied to tackle social and environmental challenges experienced in two neighborhoods of Belém, Pará. Studied areas had thermal and acoustic measurements, which were associated to a survey with dwellers in order to qualify the human experience in these neighborhoods. Results show that a wider number of variables, than those already found in zoning and urban regulation, should be considered to obtain a more efficient microclimate control and to reduce dependency on energy and income for a better city experience.
