Modern fertilizer application technologies are based on information obtained from agrochemical soil surveys, space monitoring data and the NDVI index. At the same time, all these technologies do not take into account physical and mechanical properties of the soil which influence soil fertility and productivity. The article presents data on the relationship between soil hardness and thickness of the humus horizon which have a strong inverse correlation of the -0.7-0.85 order.
