Description
Summary:In the article, political and philosophical-historical views of Oswald Spengler as an ideologist of the German ‘conservative revolution’ in the Weimar Republic are considered. It is claimed that the crisis of world outlook and the ideological bases of the German conservatism after 1918 led to emergence of ‘reactionary modernism’, the feature of which was the use of the modernist manner for the statement of irreconcilable anti-modernism. The analysis of Spengler’s main works shows the theoretic-methodological and heuristic potential of the concept ‘reactionary modernism’ in relation to the ideology of ‘conservative revolution’ and ideological phenomena close to it.
