This discussion has largely taken place in the broader context of the economies of the globalization process. Our paper contributes to this debate by testing the impact of intra-regionalism vs. economic inter-regionalism on the correlation of business cycles, paying special attention to the Asia-Europe relationship. We observe that the effect of regionalism on the cyclical co-movement is relatively more significant. Regional economic cycles in Europe and Asia are synchronous. However, the cyclical transmission between these two regions always appears smaller.http://journals.openedition.org/interventionseconomiques/2805business cycle synchronizationeconomic integrationEuro-Asia relationshipregionalization of business cycle
