In the context of the fast changes that take place in national economies lately, starting points towards a new banking order must be based on new models of banking management. The macroeconomic risk factors may have a significant impact on the performance of a banking institution, with direct implications on the quality of the credit portfolio, on profitability and its fructification and, finally, on the entire banking system. The evaluation of a bank’s profitability is done with the aid of the banking performance indicators, which reflect a multitude of aspects regarding the degree of profit realization, managerial and operational efficiency.
