A number of medical treatment options exist in the armamentarium of a dermatologist treating vitiligo. However, a significant number of lesions of vitiligo either fail to respond to medical therapy or respond with incomplete repigmentation. Such lesions are considered appropriate for surgical management. Surgical management has provided a very good tool to the management of refractory cases of vitiligo.
