Exploring the colloid-to-polymer transition for ultra-low crosslinked microgels from three to two dimensions

Microgels combine the properties of flexible polymers and colloids, but effects which influence the individual properties are less known. Here the authors show that the properties of a microgel can change from colloidal-like in three dimensions to a flexible polymer under a confined environment.
