Description
Summary:Shares the results of exploratory research on the provision of information about Covid-19 in the Brazilian news media, on government websites, research institutions and scientific databases. It presents the theoretical-methodological framework that constitutes the research context, based on the conceptual approach of the supply of information in the information regime of the network society and in the indicative method. The survey identified, in the sources consulted about Covid-19 on the Internet, specific editorials and materials in the journalistic media and specific materials on government and research institution websites. The database search identified 163,736 journal articles on the subject at Portal da Capes, in addition to 87,184 newspaper articles, 1,766 reviews, 853 files with textual resources and 37 books; in the Virtual Health Library (VHL), 107,059 references were identified, most of them related to coronavirus infections (45,149 references); in the VHL Saúde Pública Brasil, 131,748 references were identified, of which 111,387 were full text; in Fiocruz's Arca repository, 19 files were identified; in the repository Database of Theses and Dissertations of the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology, 19 files about Covid-19 were identified; in the Information Science Database, 169 references were identified, 14 references in 2019, 143 references in 2020 and 12 references in 2021; and the Portal of the Laboratory of Intellectual Technologies provides links to scientific institutions, data base and research groups. The survey results demonstrate that there is a significant supply of scientific information about the pandemic caused by Covid-19, in addition to information at journalistic and governmental levels.
