Summary: | Background. Murder and heavy injury threats are quite common socially dangerous
acts in Russia. Legislative regulation of these criminal attacks serves as one of
the means of preventing serious and especially serious crimes against the person.
However, judicial and investigative practice shows that there are certain problems in their detection and investigation, which prevents the implementation of the principle
of inevitability of criminal responsibility in full. The purpose of the work is to suggest
the most effective areas of activity of the police to identify and investigate
crimes of this category.
Materials and methods. The article uses domestic normative legal acts regulating
the issues of qualification, detection and investigation of murder and heavy injury
threats, as well as a wide range of scientific papers on the problem under study.
The methodological basis was the universal dialectical method of knowledge. In addition,
methods of analysis and synthesis, deduction and induction were implemented.
Results. The analysis of official statistical indicators on the considered crimes is
carried out. The author studies the shortcomings of law enforcement activities to
identify and investigate murder and heavy injury threats.
Conclusions. Based on the results obtained, recommendations for improving the
activities of the police aimed at identifying and investigating the considered socially
dangerous acts are proposed.
