The archives of architectural and town-planning administrations held by the National Archives (Pierrefitte) allow us to document this page of architectural history. If we can observe unchanging elements in the way the projects are conducted, we also notice a significant diversity in the approaches, illustrating ambitions that might be political, urbanistic or architectural.
