Description
Summary:The aim of this paper is to study in depth the socio–emotional characteristics of gifted and talented students by analyzing the different works that have focused on the characteristics of such students. To do so, firstly previous studies dealing with the social and emotional characteristics of gifted and talented students will be reviewed. In addition, the concept of emotional intelligence will be explored together with the diverse theoretical perspectives from which it is studied. Finally some proposals and developed programs aimed at educational intervention on emotional recognition, expression, understanding and management will be included. Given the benefits of such programs, their inclusion in any educative curricula is justified, especially for high ability students.
