Summary: | In the following paper, we shortly present a research line, started to find methods to optimize design choices and actually focused on renovation strategies. The aim of the presented work is to propose a method for the assessment of different renovation options for existing buildings and the measure of what is here called the “renovation potential” of a built asset, i.e. the maximum possible saving during a reference service life of a building, obtainable through a renovation, and the “cost-optimal renovation solution”, i.e the best (most sustainable) solution that reaches the renovation potential. |
