This book is a critique of human-centrism, speciesism and occidental welfarism. It focuses on three specific headings; firstly, the history of philosophy regarding animals since Antiquity and up until modern day; secondly, the objectification of animals, in which the capitalist means of production is debated as a cause of the pain, suffering and death of animals; thirdly, a critique of the welfarist reasoning as an incorrect alternative for the construction of a new ethic and animal law.
