Summary:Magnetic zeolite-Chitosan (MZC) composite was prepared with sol-gel method by mixing magnetic/zeolite and Chitosan for enhanced removal of hexavalent chromium [Cr (VI)] from aqueous solution. The morphology of the prepared adsorbent was analyzed with FTIR spectroscopy, field-emissions scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The effects of pH, contact time, initial concentration and Sorbent dosage on the adsorption capacity were experimentally determined. The concentration of the Cr ions was measured using (GBC).
