The issue of comprehension andinterpretation of human beingness in the world is viewed as a hermeneutical phenomenon. Pointing out the two acknowledged faces in understanding the hermeneutics – as a ’phenomenology of comprehension’ and a ’logic of validation’, respectively as an ’ontological hermeneutics’ and an ’analytical or critical hermeneutics’ – the problem of this enterprise is that of approaching them beyond any controversies, trying to disclose their communication. Such a perspective is more fruitfully in the endeavor of finding a better way to comprehending a text, generally; and to overcome any paradoxes in the interpretation and comprehension process, by activating thefunctions of sense and reflection, by disclosing, eventually, the dialogical relation between the interpret and the text.http://www.agathos-international-review.com/issue2/12.GERALD%20NYENHUIS.pdfhermeneuticsinterpretationcomprehensionphenomenological understandingcommunicationhorizon of text.
