Knowledge of these factors and their possible correlations are needed to reduce the morbidity of respiratory infections in children. Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation of bruxism with other risk factors for respiratory infections in children. Methods: Sixty-two children from a public nursery school were evaluated through a questionnaire applied to parents with issues regarding living conditions, duration of breastfeeding, passive smoking, type and frequency of respiratory infections in the last twelve months and diagnosis of bruxism. Results: The Bruxism was present in 55% of children with chronic respiratory diseases such as rhinitis and sinusitis (p = 0.04) and the prevalence of infections in the past twelve months occurred in 90% of children diagnosed with rhinitis and sinusitis. (P = 0.05). Conclusion: Bruxism and chronic infections of the upper airway shows a positive correlation with Respiratory infections in children of school age.http://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=92915260016
