Description
Summary:The article is devoted to the study of Protestant preaching discourse, consideration of the compositional and structural-semantic features of the German Protestant sermons from the standpoint of particular synchronic theolinguistics. The article examines the features of Protestantism as a Christian religious confession based on faith in Christ and on four basic principles: 1) sola fide (only by faith); 2) sola gratia (only by God's grace); 3) solus Christus (only Christ); 4) sola Scriptura (only Holy Scripture). The analysis of the history of the development of the Protestant Church in comparison with other Christian movements made it possible to state the accentuation of Protestantism on the inner world of a person, which is reflected in the content and structural features of the central action of Protestant worship - preaching. The purpose of the present article is a theolinguistic study of the structural and semantic features of the German Protestant sermon. This goal provides for the solution of the following tasks: determining the place of Protestant preaching discourse in the system of religious discourses, considering the history of the formation of Protestant preaching; study of the compositional features of Protestant sermons, analysis of the lingual means of organizing the text of the sermon. Based on the lingual analysis of the texts of German sermons and taking into account the extralingual components of the preaching discourse, it became possible to single out a set of lexical, morphological and syntactic means that contribute to the achievement of the persuasive effect of the Protestant German sermon. The study of the German Protestant preaching discourse from the viewpoint of the particular synchronic theolinguistics opens up prospects for further comprehensive study of this special type of speech activity of the influential type.
