In the medical population the incidence of psychosocial risks is 28%, in anesthesiologists it is notoriously higher: from 50% at European level and from 59% to 96% in Latin America. In Cuba, these risks have not been studied in these personnel. Objective: Identify psychosocial risks in anesthesiologists. Method: Descriptive cross-sectional study with the universe of anesthesiologists working in the hospitals of the Arroyo Naranjo municipality (n = 11) as an instrument, the short version of the ISTAS21 Occupational Psychosocial Risk Assessment Questionnaire (CoPsoQ-21) was applied. Results: The average age and working age was 50 and 21 years respectively, predominantly female (81.8%). The only dimension favorable to health was social support, the excessive dimensions of psychological demands of work, double presence and esteem or Labor compensation showed a more unfavorable level of psychosocial exposure to health, the level of intermediate psychosocial exposure prevailed in the dimensions of insecurity and lack of control over the contents and working conditions and development possibilities. The excess of psychological demands of work was statistically associated with age. Conclusions: The anesthesiologists who work in the hospitals of the Arroyo Naranjo municipality are exposed to risk factors of psychosocial nature that, apparently, have their origin in the organization of work which could have negative consequences on their health and may be causing physical or mental discomfort that can be avoidedhttp://revsaludtrabajo.sld.cu/index.php/revsyt/article/view/150/198occupational psychosocial riskanestesiologististas 21
