So, the « culture of origin » of this population seems to be too far from the school culture and is seen as being the source of descendants of immigrants’s difficulties at school. Nevertheless, our research on the schooling of French children of African subsaharan origin, allows us to argue that, far from being the reason of the academic failure of this population, this « culture of origin » enables the academic success of the children of immigrants.
