Description
Summary:A new methodology based on dinitro salicilyc acid ¿DNS- was developed and applied to quantify directly the breakers action on polymers used in the water-based fracturing fluids. Breakers from different services companies were tested. furthermore, a specific enzyme for guar gum and its derivates was tested as a breaker by first time. all the breakers were tested at 70 and 100 °C. The breakers concentrations were suggested by the services companies. The enzyme was tested at 100 °C and adding different methanol concentrations. It was demonstrated that the new methodology uses is easy, fast and non expensive way to measure the breakers ability to degradate the polymer in the water-based fracturing fluid.
