The downstaging and conversion treatment strategies for intermediate and advanced liver cancer should be taken seriously in clinical practice to further improve treatment outcome. According to disease stage and conditions of patients with intermediate and advanced liver failure, multidisciplinary cooperation is needed to optimize downstaging and conversion treatment regimens, which may help inoperable patients to obtain the opportunity for surgical treatment. Palliative therapy can be changed to radical surgical resection, and patients who cannot undergo antitumor treatment can still receive palliative therapy. More patients with intermediate and advanced liver cancer are able to achieve a better clinical outcome, an improvement in prognosis, and long-term survival.http://www.lcgdbzz.org/qk_content.asp?id=10535
