Summary: | The use of remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) enables highly accurate analysis and definition of exposed areas, assisting in mapping and modeling. RPA also allows the measurement of population at risk in the study area. The study’s objective is to identify the level of exposure in the Passo da Pátria Complex, Natal/RN. The primary data used in the study were collected by ARP in field work. Alongside with the support of geographic information systems, the data enable to construct a flood risk synthesis mapping. The methodology that guides this study starts from previous works and adapted to local reality. As the results, it was found that the risk of flooding in the study area is highly characterized, especially in the corridor where the Baldo Canal as it belongs to one of the low altimeter areas of the Complejo. However, it is also noted that other areas are prone to flood risk. The methodology can serve as an important aid to identify detailed risk areas due to its low cost, precision and efficiency, and in supporting flood disaster prevention decisions.
