Summary: | This article analyses, Kayıp Şehir [The Lost City], a TV series broadcasted between 2012 and 2013 in Turkey, on channel Kanal D. What makes this short-lived TV series outstanding is the way it dealt with several sensitive subjects in Turkish society, such as violence inside families, homosexuality, prostitution, and the discriminatory politics of the Turkish state towards its own minorities. These issues were handled with a realistic tone in the series, that is very much inspired by Turkish literary works. |
