Description
Summary:Almost ten years are gone since the first Professional Master in Mathematics Education in our country, and a new law and a new context is presented in relation to this modality in the post-graduation program. One of the aspects causing concern about this modality refers to the research developed during this course. This article proposes to reflect about the possibilities and contributions of the studies developed in this program and its repercussion in the work of the professors. The hypothesis that gave direction to the study is that the practice of research in the professional master course, making the questions related to education an object of research, can directly influence how the professor deals with the content and the activities practised in the classroom. The analyses of documents, questionnaires and interviews with the students of the program compose the instruments to gather data. The approximation of academics with the school and reflection about the practice are the axes which the Professional Master Course seeks to privelege.
