Summary:Poverty, social inequalities and public policies is a thematic table coordinated and proposed by the Public Policies Post-Graduation Program of Federal University of Piauí that gather together the reflections of five researchers of Social Work area. The studies pointed by this researchers had explored the poverty comprehension through its multifaces which express, in synthesis, the deep inequalities and antagonisms of Brazilian and Latin-American societies. The surveys also indicates the need for effective and substantial answers, compromised with this population rights and citizenship, from the State.
