Summary:The present article is a is a reflexion about the minimization of solid residues, having it as a scope for the environmental education regarded to the selective waste collection, aiming to contribute particularly to the debate about the construction of sustainable societies as well as to the environment conservation, with the consequent life quality improvement by changing peoples conception in relation to the managementof residues and the selective collection. Thus, we can verify that through the environmental education, there is the possibility of a transformation of the consumption and production standards in the cultural and educational paradigms in the modern society, and also of the values revision, comportments and personal habits. The conclusion shows the nessecity to aware the society through the environmental education in schools, making the comportmental changing possible in a continuous and sustainable way, providing at the same time the life quality improvement and the environment preservation.
