Description
Summary:The objective of this research was understand the importance of granites outcrops in the relief of evolution of the serra do Mar in Paraná. The methodology is based on the measurement of denudational processes use cosmogenic isotope 10Be. The results showed that areas of granite have denudation rates less the rest of hydrographic basin. The relief also affects denudational rates for the more lowered portions and lower slopes provide the highest denudation rates because of the increased alteration mantle due the greater accumulation of water. The coastal plains are characterized as areas favorable for the retention of sediments. Thus, it was found that the combination of lithological context with the geomorphological are controllers important factors of landscape evolution of serra do Mar paranaense.
