Summary:The main objective of the study was to investigate the effect of verbal and tangible reinforce-ment on the achievement of students who study science in middle schools. The study also tried to find whichof the two reinforcement procedures was more effective on the students' achievement. The researcher used experimental analysis to study the effect of the reinforcement. The sample.which was randomly selected. consisted of 90 students d-wded into three groups. No reinforcement wasused with the first group, tangible reinforcement was used with the second group and verbal reinforcementwas used with the third group.
