Although the central axis of this activity is represented by choral music V. Ciolac approached in his creation several genres of instrumental music, including the sonata. Th is article is devoted to the analysis of the Sonata for fl ute and piano composed in 1986. Although monopartite, the composition of the Sonata reveals the typical structure of a more or less traditional sonata allegro in which in some sections the latent manifestation of the functions of the other parts of the cyclic form is observed. . Th us, we fi nd that V.
