The various views of a supreme court residence has been shown in the when the supreme courts exist in the residences which are not in the capitals of the countries to which these courts belong. The competence of the supreme courts has been also shown with the spedially expressed account of the competence in the relation to the each court. In the case of the competence, the author suggests some new solutions for the Supreme Court of the Republic Croatia. During his research, the author has paid special attention to the structure of the Supreme Court, to its councils, to the conferences of the departments or similar authorities and the general assembly of the supreme sourt and similar authorities in Germany and Austria. Also the special attention the author has paid to the competence od the supreme courts in the cases of criminal and civilian proceedings and to the diversity of the competence. The ways of giving of the decisions on the court department sessions, as well as on the general assembly of the supreme court have been shown in this work. At the end the author gives the review of the of the judge appointments for the supreme courts in the supreme courts in the formerly mentioned counties. The author, at te same time, gives the series of the suggestions which are to be observed, specially in the case of some official decisions (the competence, judge appointmenst, work of the councils, departments sessions and the work of the general court assembly) which will be appropriate to use in The Supreme Court of the Republic Croatia.http://hrcak.srce.hr/file/70673supreme courtsorganizationprocedureGermanyAustriaSlovenia
