Description
Summary:
This paper aims to reflect on the symbolic statute of the body and its significant materiality, considering its (inter)relation with memory and language. With this purpose, a possible interrelation between Eugène Delacroix’s painting, “La liberté guidant le people”, and Elisa Riemer’s poster of the 2nd Marcha das Vadias (SlutWalk), which occurred in the city of Maringá, in the state of Paraná, Brazil, was analyzed. The body was found to be a significant and historical materiality registered in a memory network, sometimes being absorbed by this network, sometimes rupturing with it.

Keywords: discourse, body, memory.
