The notions of Cultural Translation studied in this paper are mainly based on the theories of authors such as Susan Bassnett e André Lefevere (1992; 1998) Homi Bhabha (1998) and Jacques Derrida (2006), which aim to emphasize the way power relations and manipulative actions interfere in the process of translation, starting with the choice of the work to be translated to the censorship of linguistic terms considered inappropriate to the audience. This paper also intends to discuss the notion of hybridity in Homi Bhabha that points out the translator’s hybrid identity and hole as an agent of social changing, while inhabiting the borders of cultural differences and cultivates the dream of translation as survival.http://e-revista.unioeste.br/index.php/travessias/article/view/16609tradução culturalvirada culturalrelações de poder. |
