During the Spanish Civil War, the group actively collaborated in humanitarian tasks and antifascist consciousness among the American collective. In order to consolidate this bond with Catalonia, the Comissariat de Propaganda de la Generalitat published in Barcelona the Butlletí Especial per als Catalans Absents de la Pàtria.
