Description
Summary:We describe a case of 48 year old woman with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) occurring 13 years after a nasopharyngeal carcinoma treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Bone marrow cytogenetic study demonstrated the presence of the t(9.22) and the molecular biology study showed rearrangement b2a2. She was managed with tyrosine kinase inhibitor but she died in blastic crisis. This case supports the observation that CML can develop as an important late complication after chemo and radiotherapy.
