Summary: | The purposes of this research were to study the current status of administration
toward excellence of schools under the Secondary Education Service Area Office
32 ; and the components of administration toward excellence of schools under the
Secondary Education Service Area Office 32. This research employed both the quantitative
and qualitative research methodologies. The research sample in the quantitative study
consisted of 412 administrators and teachers in schools under the Secondary Education
Service Area Office 32. A questionnaire was employed in data collection. Data were
statistically analyzed with confirm factor second order factor analysis. In the qualitative
study, in-depth interview was the data collection method. The target group consisted of
17 purposively selected educational administrators, school administrators, and educational
experts.
Results were as follows: The current state of administration toward excellence of
schools under the Secondary Education Service Area Office 32 comprised academic affairs
administration, budget administration, personnel administration, and general administration, all
of which were practiced at the good level. The administration toward excellence of schools
under the Secondary Education Service Area Office 32 comprised four components, namely,
academic affairs administration, budget administration, personnel administration, and general
administration.
The academic affairs administration comprised the school-based curriculum
development, the learning process development, the measurement and evaluation of learning
outcomes and transfer of learning credits, the school-based research for educational
quality development of the school, and the educational supervision. The budget
administration comprised the budget planning ; the monitoring, follow-up and reporting of
expenditures and performance outcomes ; the mobilization of educational resources and
investment ; the financial management and budgetary control ; and the assets and inventory management. The personnel administration comprised the manpower planning and position
allocation, the personnel procurement and appointment to positions, the discharge of
personnel, the enhancement of work performance efficiency, and the discipline and
maintenance of discipline. The general administration comprised the administrative and
records work ; the buildings, facilities and environment administration ; and the student
affairs administration. In addition, the quantitative and qualitative study results were in
accord and in the same direction. |
