Was evidence of poor adherence to exclusive breastfeeding by mothers who a Family Health Unit in Marília/SP, and from this data is that it consisted order to identify the reasons that led these mothers to introduce other types of food other than breast milk, before children reach six months of age contributing to early weaning. It was possible to detect as most significant for the cessation of exclusive breastfeeding factors the physical changes of the mother and return to work after a period of 120 days of maternity leave.
