| Summary: | This paper is intended to be a study of the translation of the contemporary Spanish poetry by the former Chinese poet Dai Wangshu, and how his translations are used in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language in China. Dai dedicated his most attention to the poems of the Generation of 27 and the romances of the Spanish Civil War. His love of Spanish poetry wasn't a coincidence but had much to do with his own aesthetic standards, attitude and experience. His translations, which are popular in China, can easily arouse young Chinese students' interest in Spanish poetry and literature, and lead them to the exploration of the original works, enhancing their comprehension of Spanish poems and improving their Spanish as a foreign language.
