Although the evaluation of project performance is important, it is also essential to know what are the necessary conditions for the development of successful projects in a company. In this sense, the objective of this research is to analyze the associations between the degree of success obtained in the Foz do Iguaçu hotel projects, and the levels of existence of Critical Success Factors for Project Management (CSFPM). Data collected through a survey with a probabilistic sample of 51 projects revealed significant correlations between the degree of success of the projects and the level of existence of the CSFPM in the hotels surveyed, with special emphasis on the "Capacity and availability of HR" and "Using Lessons Learned "and" Conduct Formal Presentations of the PMO "as the strongest and moderate correlations respectively.http://www.ijopm.org/index.php/IJOPM/article/view/440/590Project managementCritical Success Factors in ProjectsSuccessful ProjectsHotelsFoz do Iguaçu
