Summary:In the aftermath of the financial crises which started in 2007, the supervision and regulation authorities around the world dispatch the necessity of recalibration the financial and banking system. Because of the bailouts in the financial and banking sectors beyond the failure of hedge funds, mortgage bonds and the collapse of Lehman Brothers, specialists around the world looked at the necessity to underwrite the regulation and supervision frameworks. The Basel III Agreement, developed by the Basel Committee of Banking Supervision enriched a substantially revised program regarding the capital adequacy headlines. In this article, we provide an outlook regarding the necessity and conformity of the new Basel III agreement facing the challenges ahead and the upcoming threats of the ongoing financial crises.
