On the taxonomic structure of the genus Odontotrypes Fairmaire, 1887 (Coleoptera: Geotrupidae) according to geographical distribution of species

The distribution of the genus Odontotrypes Fairmaire, 1887 is examined. Thorectomimus subgen. n. is established for the O. semenowi (Reitter, 1887) and O. biconiferus (Fairmaire, 1887) species aggregates (the type species is Geotrupes semenowi Reitter, 1887). O. shokhini sp. n. is described from Yunnan. The name O. cicatricosus (Nikolajev, 1977), nom. resurr. is restored. The species O. (s. str.) zhongdianensis Král, Malý et Schneider, 2001 is including two subspecies: O. (s. str.) zhongdianensis zhongdianensis Král, Malý et Schneider, 2001, stat. n. and O. (s. str.) zhongdianensis cavazzutii Král, Malý et Schneider, 2001, stat. n. The name O. hayekae (Mikšič, 1961), nom. correctum is justified emendation for Geotrupes hayeki Mikšič, 1961
