The methodological bases of the present research are represented by the comparative method and the principle of historical and etymological reconstruction. The results of the study consist in the systematisation of the English vernacular names of leguminous crops in comparison with their Russian equivalents. A glossary in the form of an easy-to-read table for the terminological assessment of translations is presented as well. The results of the study can be applied in the sphere of translators’ training as well as while teaching professional terminology in English to students and post-graduates who specialise in the cultivation, breeding and seed production of leguminous crops.http://journal-s.org/index.php/mrsp/article/view/12458зернобобовые культурынародные названиямногокомпонентные терминыименные группысинтагматические отношениясельскохозяйственная терминология
