Summary:The dynamics of changes taking place in the environment of organizations encourages them to design and implement internal changes allowing to sustain the balance between the organizations and their environment. These changes concern the formulation of the main goal of an organization, process and structural solutions, management concept, relations with clients, a different look at resources, using knowledge as a source of innovation etc. One of the conditions for the functioning and development of contemporary organizations is systemic utilization of knowledge for solving the emerging problems, including the creation of innovations. Satisfying this condition requires using knowledge in management. The purpose of this work is to show that knowledge plays a fundamental role in the processes of generating and implementing innovation, that’s why the process of creating innovation has to be manager in a rational way, according to the proposed models.
