РівнеThe aim of this paper is to analyze the features of the choreographic language of the Ukrainian ballet performance in the second half of the 20th century. The basic principles of art of choreography during the studied historical period are considered. Research methodology. The author uses the integrated approach caused by need of the involvement of the comparative and historical method which fixes the similarity between the cultural phenomena. The application of culturological methodology which includes the sociocultural approach –as it focuses attention on the unity of culture and sociality, taking into account scientific achievements of a choreology, cultural science, ethnography, psychology, history, etc. has been integral to the study. Results. It is found that at the heart of art language of choreography there was a unique phenomenon of a sensitive and graphic statement of substantial reality. The author reports that during the second half of the 20th century in the choreographic language of the Ukrainian ballet performance it is possible to observe two main sociocultural orientations: corporal and spiritual. The choreographic art in the second half of the 20th century has united a number of types and genres of dancing activity among which the leading place has been taken by the ballet. At the same time in ballet art the image of the identity of the performer is the key point which translates into its movements and is supported by music performances. At the present stage the choreographic language needs to be considered as a culture mirror, as its objective image, model as it accompanies its development. At the same time the surrounding cultural matrix changes, passes through transformations and art language of the ballet. The dance terminology is borrowed from the classical ballet. Novelty. An attempt is made to analyze the features of the development of the choreographic language of the Ukrainian ballet performance, relevant in terms of the modern art, in the second half of the 20th century. The practical significance. The results of the study can be used in developing the monographs and publications on the contemporary history of choreography of Ukraine.
