The aim of this work was to study the effectiveness of Multikarenol in the complex therapy of patients with non-proliferative DR (PDR). Methods and results. 97 patients with type II diabetes and diabetic retinopathy were examined. Patients were divided into 3 groups, depending on the stage of PDD (as recommended by WHO classification Kohner and Porta, 1991). Conclusion. Severity of microangiopathy decrease in DR patient was detected under the influence of short carotenoids. Normalization of lipid metabolism and VEGF and PEDF factors were noted.http://zmj.zsmu.edu.ua/article/view/35863/32106Diabetic RetinopathyСarotenoidsTherapeutics
