The purpose of this paper is to justify the prospects of composite materials in submarine shipbuilding, as well as to describe various technological and design solutions adopted in superstructures, sails, bow domes, tail cones and other structural elements of foreign submarines where composites are used. Materials and methods. This paper follows the methods of system analysis and system approach, as well as the principle of historical succession. Main results. The paper studies the trends of introducing the composites to foreign submarine shipbuilding, enumerates the structural joints of the submarines that are preferable to be made of composites, as well as describes the most common design solutions. Conclusion. The paper formulates scientifically justified conclusions and predictions for further application of composites in submarine shipbuilding.http://transactions-ksrc.ru/eng/archive/State-of-the-art-and-prospects-of-composites-in-foreign-submarine-shipbuilding/submarinescompositessubmarine shipbuildingmanufacturing technologies for composite partsfastening technologiespolymeric composite materialsinfusioncompression moulding methods
