Radiological investigations such as ultrasonography and mammography may be helpful but not conclusive. Preoperative fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) diagnosis was consistent with hydatid cyst of breast and was without any complications. Histopathological examination of lumpectomy specimen confirmed the diagnosis of hydatid cyst of breast.
