Description
Summary:A comparative study is presented of different calculation methods with respect to the evacuation of smoke and heat in the case of enclosure fires in large compartments. These methods range from manual calculations, based on empirical formulae, over zone modeling to the use of computational fluid dynamics. The focus is on large single storey compartments. The differences between results obtained with the examined methods are discussed. .
